I need to paint my basement....it doesnt leak and its concrete and wnt to know what brand of paint will work for me.I Want To Paint My Basement Floor. What Brand Of Paint Would Be Good To Use?
Use a two part epoxy paint. You can use Home Depot paint, but DO NOT use Behr paint. That is the worst paint that I have ever tried. Yes, the floor should be cleaned and pressure washed, and dry

Sherwin Williams is best, roll it on fast, if you don't it will flash and make lines, roll fast. I recommend that you tape the room off first, so you don't have to slow down for clean up
My husband and I own a paint company, he says that even though I have told you this information. You should go to Sherwin Williams and talk with the guys there, they really know their stuff, and will walk you through the entire process.
I would NOT take the advise of any employee at Home Depot or Lowes on this project.
Two part epoxy paint is tough and durable, you can park a car on it and not mark it. Just think how hot your tires are on your car, and it will not effect it.I Want To Paint My Basement Floor. What Brand Of Paint Would Be Good To Use?
go to your nearest home depot or lowes paint dept and look for garage floor paint. its a expoxy paint, come in a couple different colors. it easy to apply and it comes out really nice.
Oh, you need you use epoxy. It the best stuff. You can buy it for garage floors that work in the basement. It's kind of a tough process, though. You have to clean and mop and rinse the floor really well. Epoxy is a two part thing. You get a gallon can and a smaller can, and just a bit before you are ready to start your painting you mix the two together. You have to make sure you have no interruptions and the floor is ready and everything moved, because once you mix the stuff it's not more than about 1/2 or so before it starts to harden. Start early in the day and you'll need ventilation--an open window, fans. You can sprinkle some ';specks'; on which help prevent slipping because the surface is slippery when you mop it. It's not as daunting as this or the back of the can sounds. Home Depot and Lowes have it in the paint Department. Kinda expensive--$45-50 and covers about 10 x 12. It's well worth it though.
Sherwin Williams oil base paint, but make sure it is clean and dry, then put you a coat of primer on it let it dry then put on two coats of paint. You should let each coat of paint cure for at least 24 hrs
