Sorry, by paint i mean wall paint. What is the best brand of paint?
Good and cheap are a contradiction in terms. Good paint costs more, because it's worth it. As seamstress said, Benjamin Moore is the best value for paint on the market. They have the Regal line which is geared towards homeowners, but I use Super Spec. It's the pro line, which means it doesn't have the fancy label like Regal, but it's about $6/gallon less and I think it covers better then Regal. Their top of the line is Aura, but unless you're a pro it's kind of a bear to work with. Pratt and Lambert is excellent paint, but it's expensive. I also use a lot of Sherwin-Williams. It's comparable to Ben Moore. Stay away from the primer/paint combos. Primer and paint perform 2 very different jobs, and the combos do neither well. Hope this helps. What is the best brand of paint?
I like Benjamin Moore Paint and recommend it for my clients. They have a Premium and a Classic color fan with many, many shades to pick from.
For a more pricey paint, Pratt and Lambert have great saturated colors. I painted an entire room wearing glasses and did not have even one speck of paint on my glasses at the end of the day!
Please keep in mind that regardless of the price of paint, it is still the same amount of time and energy to paint a room. So, paying a little more for a better quality of paint is well worth, say the extra $5.00 to $10.00 per gallon. Unless, of course, you enjoy painting and want to paint over cheap paint soon.
