What Brand Of Paint Should I Use?

What is the best brand of paint to use to paint the exterior of a house? What Brand Of Paint Should I Use?
There is no one manufacturer that is best. A lot of them are so close to the same, they might as well be clones of each other.

What you need to do is take into consideration your weather conditions (degrees of hot and cold), and the amount of rainfall you receive per year. Then you would need to consider the type of surface you would be painting. A paint that does well for wood does not necessarily do well on plastic or aluminum.

Your MOST important step is to clean the existing siding on the house thoroughly, and to prepare it by getting rid of all the loose previous paint and roughing up the outer coat of the remainder. And a missing chip of paint is going to be glaringly obvious newly painted, if you haven't taken the time to sand the lifted edge off the remaining paint.

Just be sure to prime your siding using a primer that will bond with both your existing paint and the new stuff you use to cover it.What Brand Of Paint Should I Use?
All the brand names mentioned are good. Russell suggested ';bear'; paint, but actually, I think what he meant to say was ';Behr.'; It is a good, highly-recommended paint. Home Depot carries it.

I think Porter is an excellent brand as well.

I don't think you would go wrong with any nationally-known brand. I don't know if Benjamin Moore was mentioned or not,

but it's supposed to be good.

My advice: If anything's on sale, take that into consideration. Or, if you find a color you love in a certain paint, go with that.
bear it is about 18-20 a gallon and ha a 25% rebate this week
I prefer Valspar, has a good spreading consitisy, and a good quality paint
Sherwood Williams
I like the american traditions paint sold at Lowes.
Sherin Williams, but, if you want the least expensive, local garbage recycling dumps sell 5 gal buckets of exteriour house paint in over 6 colors CHEAP.
hello painter here!

benjamin moore paint is my personal favorite. the regal line, (top of the line) is by far the best. every company has different grades. never go with the cheapest. behre (spelled bear by someone else) is terrible paint, as is most big box stores paints. sherwin williams is alright, just don't use the low end. a very good quality paint will cost you more than 30 bucks a gallon. (ext. probably more like $40-45). but it is very worth it, it will last you longer and look much nicer for your efforts.

good luck!

Depends on where you live. My husband likes

Sherwin Williams Duration Paint; we live in Virginia.
One of my favorites is General Finishes. It's a little known manufacturer that often wins out in competitions against Sherwin Williams and the others. To find a retail store that carries it, check out their site:

Sherwin Williams '; Super Paint';

I pay about $13 a gallon for it. However you wont be able to purchase it that cheap. I buy thousands of gallons a year so I get great deals. I pass the savings on to my customers if they let me include material..or else I don't guarantee the work.

You will probably pay about $22-$26 per gallon.

Get a gallon of bonding primer for the bare spots.U will need to prime these prior to putting the finish coat on.

Maybe if ya e-mail me and tell me how much u need..I can order the paint for ya and you just go to the store and pay cash for it. I'm in a good mood. Don't wait!! Tomorrow is Monday..I HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MONDAYS!!!!!
