What are the best painting brands for beginners?

ive been drawing for a long time and i want to take up painting but i really dont know what color brands or paper i should use as a begginer

would target store paints be ok ?

ive painted with the crayola watercolors when i was little

but thats about itWhat are the best painting brands for beginners?
I wouldnt reccomend paper for painting. I paint on Canvas. If you shop arround you will find some quite cheaply.

Acrylics are good to start with as they are cheaper and a lot easier to handle than oil colours. Even cheaper are watercolours. I have used several different acrylic brands and didnt find a huge difference between them. Check whats on offer in your local art supply stores. Probably the easiest way.

I painted with oil colours for a while but they took ages to dry so i turned towards acrylics and they are just perfect for what

i like to paint (sort of modern contemporary stuff).

In my experience i find that trying different mediums, colours brands is the best way to find what you are looking for. Just because it is pricy doesnt mean its necessary to buy that brand. I buy my colours in a discount book store so hey, have a look arround. Same goes for brushes but its not recommendable to go for the very cheap stuff as they wont last too long.

Have fun painting.

I reccomend watching Bob Ross - Joy of painting. Its excellent. Have a look on youtube for some vids.
